Export to Capacities

Web Highlights integrates with Capacities, letting you export your highlights, notes, and page metadata as weblinks in your Capacities space.

How It Works

1. Connect your account — Open Settings > Integrations and click "Export to Capacities", then "Connect to Capacities". You'll be taken to Capacities to approve the connection — no API token to copy.
2. Pick your space on the Capacities page — The connection is bound to one Capacities space, chosen during the approval step. The connected space is shown in your settings afterwards. To switch spaces, disconnect and connect again.
3. Export a page — On any highlighted page, open the three-dot menu in the sidebar and select "Export to Capacities". Your weblink is created within seconds.
4. Open in Capacities — An "Open in Capacities" button appears so you can jump straight to the created page.

What Gets Exported

Each export creates a Capacities weblink containing:

• All highlights from the page, in page order and with their colors
• Your notes, attached to their highlights
• A back-link from every highlight to the page in Web Highlights

Re-exporting a page appends only the highlights you added since the last export — nothing gets duplicated. If there's nothing new, Web Highlights tells you so.

Connected before mid-2026 with an API token? Capacities upgraded their API — open Settings > Integrations and reconnect your account once.
