Save bookmarks from your phone
On Android, the Web Highlights app saves pages, PDFs and text from any app on your phone. It works together with the browser extension and the web app. On iPhone and iPad, use the web app instead — see iPhone and iPad.
Install the Android app
Get Web Highlights on Google Play, open it and sign in with Google or with e-mail and password. Use the same account as in the browser extension.
Save a page
- In any app — Chrome, a newsletter, Reddit — tap Share and pick Save to Web Highlights.
- The page opens inside the app, in its own browser. If the site asks you to sign in, you can do that there.
- Tap Save Page. The page is saved to your library and opens in the reader, where you can highlight it and add notes and tags.
Save a page with a highlight
Select a sentence in the app's browser before you save. The button changes to Highlight & Save Page: one tap saves the page with your first highlight already on it.
Save text or a PDF
- Text: select text in any app and send it to Web Highlights. Keep it as a new page or as a highlight on a page you already saved.
- PDF link: share a link that ends in
.pdf, and it opens in the built-in PDF viewer. - PDF file: share a PDF file, then tap Create to upload it to your library.
Plans and sync
The app is free to use. Nothing can be bought inside the app: if you already have a Premium or Ultimate plan, it applies as soon as you sign in. Cloud sync between your phone, the extension and the web app is free for 7 days, then part of Premium and Ultimate. Without it, what you save stays on the device you saved it on.
iPhone and iPad
There is no iOS app yet — it is in progress. Until then, add the web app to your Home Screen: open it in Safari, sign in, then use Share → Add to Home Screen (step by step).
iOS doesn't let web apps appear in the Share menu. To save a page, copy its link and paste it into Web Highlights.
