Flags of Oceania

There are only 14 flags here, yet Oceania is where many flag-quiz streaks end. Australia and New Zealand both pair the Union Jack with the Southern Cross, so count the stars and check their colour: six white stars for Australia, four red ones for New Zealand. Fiji and Tuvalu keep the Union Jack on light blue. The rest are Pacific originals, such as Kiribati’s frigatebird over a rising sun, Palau’s yellow full moon and the bird of paradise on the flag of Papua New Guinea.

How to study this set

Start with the four flags that carry the Union Jack and learn what sits next to it on each. Then tie every island nation to one image: a frigatebird for Kiribati, a moon for Palau, a twelve-pointed star for Nauru, four stars on blue for Micronesia. With 14 cards, a full run takes only a few minutes.
