Drag & drop a PDF here

or click to choose a file (max 30 MB)

Your PDF is stored temporarily and deleted after 1 hour unless you create a free account to keep it.

Upload and Go

Drag in a PDF and the AI reads it and drafts flashcards for you — right in your browser, nothing to install.

Private by Design

The cards are written by Chrome's built-in AI on your own computer. The PDF text is turned into flashcards on your device, not on a server.

Study With Spaced Repetition

Save the deck and learn it in a session that schedules each card for review at the right moment, so a textbook chapter actually sticks.

How to Make Flashcards From a PDF

  1. 1

    Upload Your PDF

Drag & drop a PDF onto the box above, or click to choose one from your device. Lecture slides, textbook chapters and papers all work.

  2. 2

    Cards Are Written for You

The PDF opens in the viewer and on-device AI turns it into question-and-answer flashcards. Pick how many to make and watch them appear.

  3. 3

    Review and Learn

Edit any card, keep the ones you want, and save the deck. Then start a spaced-repetition session to memorize it. Sign up to keep the deck and your progress — the PDF itself is deleted after 1 hour unless you do.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this work?
You upload a PDF, it opens in our in-browser viewer, and Chrome's built-in AI reads the text and drafts question-and-answer flashcards. You review the cards and save the ones you like as a deck.
Do I need an account?
No. You can upload a PDF and generate flashcards without an account. Create a free account only when you want to keep the deck and your learning progress across devices.
What happens to my PDF?
Your PDF is stored temporarily so the viewer can read it, and it is deleted after 1 hour unless you sign up. The flashcards themselves are written on your device by the built-in AI.
Can I edit the flashcards?
Yes. Every card is a draft — reword a question, fix an answer, uncheck cards you don't want, and choose how many the AI generates before you save the deck.
Why don't I see any flashcards generated?
The generator uses Chrome's built-in AI, which needs Chrome 138+ or a recent Edge. The first run also downloads the model (about 3–4 GB). If nothing appears, update your browser or check our troubleshooting guide.
Can I also highlight the PDF?
Yes — the same viewer lets you highlight and annotate. Try the free PDF highlighter if you only want to mark up a document.
