How to Install an Extension from a Local File in Vivaldi

This guide will show you how to install an extension from a local file (such as .zip, .crx, or .xpi) in Vivaldi.

  1. Download the extension file as a .zip archive.
  2. Unzip the file to a folder on your computer.
  3. Open vivaldi://extensions in the address bar.
  4. Enable Developer mode (top right).
  5. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped extension folder.
  6. Confirm installation if prompted.
Note: Vivaldi may allow .crx drag-and-drop, but "Load unpacked" is the most reliable method.

Tip: Always be careful when installing extensions from outside the official store. Only use files from trusted sources.
