Import

Kindle Import

Every Kindle e-reader keeps a My Clippings.txt file of your highlights and notes. Upload it to Web Highlights to turn each book into a collection of highlights you can review, tag, and learn as flashcards. Your file is parsed entirely in your browser and never uploaded to a server.

How it works

  1. Connect your Kindle via USB

Plug your Kindle e-reader into your computer with a USB cable. It appears as a drive.
  2. Find My Clippings.txt

On the Kindle drive, open the documents folder and locate My Clippings.txt — the file that stores every highlight and note.
  3. Upload My Clippings.txt to Web Highlights

In Web Highlights, open Settings → Integrations → Kindle Import. Click 'Upload Kindle .txt file' and select My Clippings.txt.
  4. Import your books

Web Highlights parses the file in your browser and imports each book as its own set of highlights — ready to review and learn as flashcards.
