Gladys, how long you've been studying and which areas of medicine you're focusing on?

I'm a third-year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, with a strong interest in dermatology particularly in addressing skin health disparities among underrepresented communities. I'm part of the UCLA PRIME-LA program, a dual-degree track that combines medicine with a focus on health equity. Alongside my medical training, I'm also pursuing an MBA to better understand healthcare systems and expand access to dermatologic care.

When do you expect to finish university?

I'm on track to graduate in 2027 after completing both degrees.

How do you use Web Highlights in your daily study routine?

I use Web Highlights to organize and annotate important information from medical articles, lecture slides, and review materials. It helps me quickly reference key points without having to reread entire documents. I also use it to compile high-yield notes for exam preparation, making it easier to review complex topics efficiently.

What specific features of Web Highlights have helped you the most in organizing your study material?

The ability to highlight and categorize information into different topics has been incredibly useful. I also appreciate the search function, which allows me to quickly find previous highlights and notes instead of scrolling through multiple resources. The integration with other study tools helps streamline my workflow.

How has Web Highlights contributed to your exam preparation and academic performance?

It has made my study process more efficient by allowing me to focus on key concepts and revisit critical information easily. By having all my highlights in one place, I can reinforce my learning without wasting time searching through different sources. This has been especially beneficial for board exam preparation, where efficiency is crucial.

Could you share a specific example of how Web Highlights helped you with a challenging topic or exam?

During my dermatology research project, I had to review a large amount of literature on language barriers in healthcare. Web Highlights helped me organize key findings from multiple studies, making it easier to synthesize information and reference important points when writing my research draft. For exam prep, I used it to highlight and review difficult pharmacology concepts, which significantly improved my recall.

Would you recommend Web Highlights to other medical students? If so, why?

Absolutely! Medical students deal with an overwhelming amount of information, and Web Highlights provides an efficient way to organize and retain key details. It saves time, reduces study stress, and enhances retention by keeping everything easily accessible.
